What is the opposite of Anxiety?
Trust.
And they sweep together to clash mid-air, like superheros in battle.
I find myself not just the spectator, but barracking for each team in alternation.
Concerns rise up and I'm in Anxiety's camp - even though, if I'm totally honest, I don't even like the guy.
Trust, however, is a more elusive hero; humble and deflecting attention. Trust waits in his corner with Hope, and Peace and Obedience. Whereas Anxiety comes out to battle on his own.
Each day the battle heaves to be fought, clocking up another round. My life is weighed and measured as the scoreboard shifts the claim. When Anxiety wins, Faith flounders, curled in a heap with Fear and Failure. But Trust defies the betting odds. He slaps the face of Self-reliance and gains the ground for Possible. It's Trust I want to barrack for.
And not the other guy.
