What people are saying:
'Penny Reeve’s workshop was one of the highlights of our Year 2 class calendar! The children were engaged the whole time and loved being able to meet a ‘real life author’ of books they had already read. Penny related well with the students and gave them an opportunity to write their own story. The quality of writing that was produced from the workshop was excellent and it was a delight to have Penny there. Her humour, relatability and down-to-earth nature were received well by both students and staff!'

'Penny was a delight to have as our Author Visitor for our younger students. She interacted with the students in exciting ways, using actions and clues to engage them in her stories. Her reflection on her Christian faith and life journey tied into both her stories and presentation seamlessly. I would recommend her to any school looking for an Author to visit.'

'Penny has a wonderful rapport with our Year 7 students. Her passion for story telling is engaging as she re-visits her Himalayan Adventure book with the students in a sincere and ‘real-world’ way. We have had Penny visit for some years and the students always enjoy her visits.'

'Penny gave an engaging and interactive talk that the students and teachers at PHCS enjoyed. Her sharing of her Christian journey complemented the lead up to Easter and gave an insight into the inspiration of her books. Our keen readers loved getting their books signed by Penny.'

'Penny spoke very eloquently to Years 2-6 students about how she started writing and her love of God. Next, she led writing workshops with Year 6 students. The children were very engaged and produced some great ideas. Finally, Stage 2 had an exciting book launch of Penny’s new book, Camp Max. It was great for the students to meet a ‘real-life’ author and Penny certainly inspired the children in their writing.'

'Penny Visited our school for an author's workshop with our 2 OC (Gifted) Classes. During the visit she presented in 3 different ways. Firstly, a general talk to 60 children about her own writing, what had inspired and interested her and the process she had gone through to be published. Second were class writing workshops where Penny passed on tips and skills. Thirdly was an intensive writing class for a smaller and more talented group. The children really enjoyed meeting a 'real live author'. The children's writing benefited from the workshop, especially the smaller intensive group.'

'Penny drew the students in with stories of her own life and her literary struggles and successes. From experiencing the beauty of exotic locations to witnessing the vulnerability of humankind, Penny shared her faith journey as well as her life journey as an author, in a natural and authentic way. The students encountered what it means to be an author – hard work, perseverance and a desire to produce the best work that you can – and they were challenged to make every part of their life honouring to the Lord Jesus.'

'Penny visited our school recently for Book Week. It was a very special time. She shared sessions with Kindergarten to Year 7. All her sessions were well planned and age appropriate as she shared her books, her faith and her concern for others in the world. Penny showed a real warmth to the students and they responded and interacted well with her; genuinely enjoying their time with her. All teachers spoke positively about the sessions with comments such as:
'particularly good and inspiring'
'it was great to have an author that could speak to infant kids'
'The visit was very beneficial for the [Year 7] students. They were very interested in what she had to say and they engaged very well in the two writing exercises she got them to do.'
